BYO Busician Breakfast - SONGWRITING

MONTHLY BYO BUSICIAN BREAKFAST MEETING

An event for members and guests starting at 7:30 am, enjoy a breakfast with many of your fellow Busicians in a setting where we can get to know each other and actually hear the conversation! This month we will hear from BYO's own Ian Dickson. 

Ian Dickson is a singer/songwriter, and guitar player living in McKinney, TX. Ian was born in Dunfermline Scotland, and came to Texas by way of Canada, Ohio, and Michigan. He didn't stay in Scotland long enough to develop an accent or a taste for Haggis.

Ian is currently writing and performing in Texas where he has opened for several Texas music icons including Ray Wylie Hubbard, Terri Hendrix, Lloyd Maines, Bugs Henderson, and Gary P. Nunn. Ian was the winner of the 2005 Wildflower performing songwriter competition, and also served on the board of directors for the Dallas Songwriters Association.

The topic will be "Song writing, the best advice I’ve been given".  Ian will cover some of the things he has learned about the songwriting process and techniques from songwriting workshops with Ray Wylie Hubbard, Rick Beresford and others.
